I have a Swedish ancester from Visby. Johan Elmstrom was a 20 year old seaman who left his ship in Buffalo, New York around 1851. He went on to raise a family in Chicago, where many Swedish immigrants settled.

The family history tells me we are from Visby Gotland. I browse this are periodically. This is a wonderful web site. If any one has information related to the Lyberg family (there are various spellings through the centuries.) it would be appreciated

This is a wonderful Hope page and Very interesting. I need to go through and need a lot of time. I love to visit Gotland and actually love to stay if I find a job. I wonder if it is possible. Is it possible to let me know? Hope to hear and advice me how can I manage that. Thank you Maria
